Hydro-Testing
The US Department of Transportation requires all helium tanks be tested EVERY 5 YEARS to verify the cylinder is safe to use. We are unable to fill any cylinder which is out of date. Allow for 2-3 weeks for the hydro test to be completed.
Has it been longer than 5 years since your last Hydro-test? If so, we can help. Purchase a Hydro-test and bring the tank to LA Balloons for service.
Not sure if your helium tank needs to be hydro-tested? Click here or bring your tank to LA Balloons and our expert staff will identify if the cylinder is due for testing.

Helium Fill FAQ's
I don't know what my tank size is for a helium fill.
Bring your tank to LA Balloons and our expert staff will be happy to identify the size of your tank.
What is the best way to transport cylinders?
When in a vehicle, always transport your cylinders lying down and secured from rolling around. IMPORTANT: Always remove the balloon inflator from the tank prior to transporting it in a vehicle. The balloon inflator can break easily. When renting a 291 cu. ft. tank, be sure to screw on the provided steel cap before transporting.
Do I need a cylinder safety stand for my tank?
For tank sizes starting at 110 cu. ft. and larger, you'll need to secure them when stationary. Even if they are not in use. To prevent them from falling, we recommend purchasing a Tank Hand Truck Dolly. The Hand Truck Dolly acts as a cylinder safety stand and also an easy way to transport the tank.
What PSI do you fill tanks to?
We are currently filling all tanks to 1800 PSI.
How long does it take to re-fill a helium tank?
We fill tanks onsite. Wait times vary between 15 to 30 minutes.
Can I go into the store to have my tank filled?
No. The store is currently closed for in-store browsing. Please place your order on the LABalloons.com website and select curbside pick up at checkout.
